Prompt: As the first semester comes to an end, take time to reflect on your learning and growth in this course. In a well-developed response, explain what you enjoyed most about the class, identify the project or assignment you found most engaging, and discuss which aspect of the course you connected with the most (such as poetry, fiction, writing, or discussion). Finally, reflect on one area where you feel you need additional support or improvement as we move into the spring semester.

As the first semester comes to an end, I’ve reflected on my experience in this course and my growth as a student. The assignment I found most engaging was the poetry-related work, as it allowed for creativity and personal interpretation. Poetry was the aspect of the course with which I connected the most because it encouraged me to think deeply about meaning, emotion, and language, while still allowing room for my own perspective. The area I struggled with the most is argumentative writing. I sometimes found it challenging to clearly organize my ideas and fully support my claims.

Many holidays center around traditions. Describe one tradition that is important to you or your family and explain why it still matters (or why it no longer does).

One tradition that my family has is cutting down our own christmas tree. Every year after thanksgiving, we always go to a christmas tree farm and look through the trees and find one we want to cut down. we ususally end up getting way to big of a tree and having to cut part of the top off so it wont hit the roof. Now since I have a truck its much easier to get a tree. i can just put it in the bed instead of having to tie it to the top of a car. The christmas tree farm that my family has gone to since i was born shut down this year, so we hadf to find a new one so we can continue the tradition.

How have the holidays changed as you have grown older? Compare your experiences of the holidays during childhood with how you experience them now, focusing on shifts in perspective, responsibilities, or emotional meaning.

I feel like holidays have kind of lost their meaning. things have gotten less special and it almost feels like just another day. I used to be super excited an wake my parents up on Christmas morning but now its just not the same. I'm not sure what happened but holidays arent really anything for me to look foreward to. I'm mainly just waitig for the break from school so I have time to do other things I actually enjoy instead of being couped up in a building 5 days a week. review: I took my vocab test that i missed friday and finished vocab lesson 6 reflection: Im glad I got to take the test this morning. I was kinda worried I wasnt gonna be able to and we have finals in a few days.

Prompt: Write about the best gift you have received.

The best gift I have recived had to have been my truck. I choose my truck, and spend a couple months searching for one. My parents paid for my truck, which I'm extremely thankful for, since I wouldn't be able to have a car if not. My truck is a 1995 Ford F-150 XLT, its a long bed, super cab, 4x4, with the biggest engine they offered in it, the 5.8L 351 Windsor. It uses a TON of gas. Right now it has an exhaust leak and a vaccum leak which is causing me to get less than 5 miles to the gallon in city driving and around 9 miles to the gallon on the highway. The truck has a couple issues but I've been able to fix most of them. The truck I got is two tone; red with a silver stripe down the side. I'm glad I got a older car and not a new car for a plethora of reasons:      1. Rapid depreciation      2. Way over engineered      3. Higher insurance costs      4. Higher registration costs      5. New cars are built s...

Write about what you did over thanksgiving break.

During the break I went to Charleston to visit my sister (she goes to college of Charleston) and take her home for thanksgiving.  I also went ice skating for the fist time, which was horrible. I drove up to a junkyard in Augusta which was about two and a half hours away. I pulled a fender and bumper filler for my truck and got 40% off since they were having a blackfriday sale. On the way back, I figured out how many miles to the gallon i was getting, and highway driving 9.5 mph, which is pretty horrible but the truck does have an exaughst manifold leak which can cause the truck to eat gas. I should hopefully get it fixed soon. I would fix it myself but older fords are known for studs holding the manifold on to snap, and I dont have the tools to get them out, so I'd rather pay teh money for someone else to do it. Summary: We worked on vocab lesson 5 Reflection: Im happy I was able to get everything done and have time left to do my blog post
