In “Birches,” Robert Frost celebrates imagination as a way to escape life’s difficulties and reconnect with innocence. The speaker wishes to “get away from earth awhile” but also understands that he must eventually return to reality. Think about the role of imagination in your own life. How does imagination help you cope with challenges, boredom, or stress?

Imagination helps cope with boredom because you can think of almost anything you want. For instance  Honestly, imagination is no help with stress. Say you have work to do that your teacher didn't give you time to do class work in class, now you can imagine everything else you could be doing or what you missing out on. I feel like imagination just adds to stress most of the time. Summary. We read and annotated the poem "Birches" by Robert Frost. After we read the poem, we were introduced to a project that we have to start that goes along with the poem we read. We started working on the poem and  Reflection. The poem was interesting, I  liked the poem but I thought "Out Out" was much more engaging. I really like how we annotate the poems together as a class, since it help me stay engaged.

After reading “Out, Out—” by Robert Frost, reflect on a time when you faced a dangerous or high-pressure situation that demanded your complete focus. What made the situation risky, and how did your concentration affect the outcome?

One dangerous and high pressure situation I was in was last year in Kentucky. It was during winter, so the road were icy. I was driving by myself (its basically the middle of nowhere so no one cares) with just my permit. I was driving a '91 F-250. To get to my grandparents cabin, theres a long one lane road thats very hilly. It was icy, and in a rear wheel drive truck that doesn't typically go well, since theres little to no weight over the rear wheels. I had to get a ton of cinder blocks and fill the bed with them. After I put around twenty in the bed, the truck finally made it up the hill. One of the risky parts; you can't see over the hill, and its just as steep on the otherside. I feathered the gas up the hill, then one I reached the top I shifted into 1st gear so istead of me using the breaks, the engine would do the work, which helps since breaks tipically have something called "break bias" where the front breaks break harder than the rear breaks which can ...

Write about what you did over the break

I didn't do too much over the break. I worked on the truck a bit. I replaced the inner and outer tie-rod ends, changed the oil, airfilter, crankcase breather, driverside door handle, and the tail lights. I also picked up transmission fluid and 80w90 oil for when I change the differential oil. I also plan to change the fluid in the transfercase which takes transmission fluid. The transfercase is what puts the truck in 2 high, 4 high, and 4 low. I also noticed after the grease heats up in the axle hub, it starts slinging onto a wheel, so I need to find a new o-ring, and repack it with grease. I also marched in the L5P Halloween parade yesterday with the marching band.  In class today we worded on a comic strip for vocab lesson 4 I wish I got more done on the comic strip, but I couldnt think of anything to write about

How do you find time to enjoy your day, even when you have a lot going on? Write about at least three specific things you do to enjoy small moments throughout your day.

How do  you find time to enjoy your day, even when you have a lot going on? Write about at least three specific things you do to enjoy small moments throughout your day. One thing I do is play trumpet which helps. Another thing I do is procrastinate school work that I don't want to do which benifits me short term.  I also like to drive my truck somewhere or work on it. Summary: we worked on our argument paragraphs Reflection I was confused with it and dont really know how to make the paragraph how it should be so I ended up researching trumpet mouthpieces a little bit.

Prompt: Describe a time when someone’s words had a lasting impact on you.

The most recent memorable time someones words have had a lasting impact on me was when my trumpet teacher told me to stick with one mouthpiece and not go down the rabbit hole and buy a ton. Currently im sticking with a Warburton 3MV with a B9 backbore. Ive tride many mouthpieces, Ive had a Bach 10 1/2c, 7c, 3, a B&S 5c, a Pickett Ingram lead, a Warburton 4ESV, a Warburton Odneal, and a Lotus 1S. Ive either traded in or sold most of the mouthpieces, since they are REALLY expinsive. A Warburton top is 145+ and a backbore is 95$. I've kept my Lotus 1S and my warburton 3MV since they fit me the best. Summary: We worked on the assignment we started tuesday reflection: I need to practice trumpet

Write about a moment when you had to step out of your comfort zone

One time I had to step out of my comfort zone was when I had a solo at LGPE last year. LGPE stands for Large Group Proformance Evaluation and every highschool band does one each year. I was really nervous for my solo since we were being judged and I had only had one solo prior. It went really well, except the band scored 2's and 3's (1 is the best 5 is the worst) Summary: we read something on writable Reflection: complete work tonight and all missing work by EOD tomorrow

Prompt: Write about a dream that felt real.

I know I've had dreams that felt real, but I do not really remember them at all. Well, since I cant remember my dreams I might as well talk about something. My truck has a vaccum leak. I gotta get a gauge to chase the leak and figure out where it is. Also, theres no audio coming from the drivers door speaker, so im assuming that a wire broke coming from the doorjam. Im also trying to get a radiator fan shroud for the truck since it doesnt have one. Last weekend, I changed teh thermostat and temp coolant sensor, and over the break I will replace the inner and outer tierods. Summary: We worked on stuff in class Reflection: I got stuff done.

Prompt: Write about a conversation that changed you.

The best gift I have recived was my truck. She's a 1995 Ford f-150 xlt. The truck has a extended cab and a 8 foot bed. She's got 199,000 miles on a 351 Windsor small block. She's a bit of a fixer upper but the trucks perfect for me, since I know how to fix almost anything on cars.  summary: today in class we worked on writing our claim reflecrtion: I chose between prompts and picked the one about coffee

Prompt: Write about a conversation that changed you.

One conversation that changed me was when my parents told me they were getting divorced. It changed me and affected my life. It was around christmas during my freshmen year. summary: today in class, we worked on writing evidence reflection: we wrote some stuff in class and turned it in

Write about something that you believed as a child.

One thing I belived in as a child was santa and the tooth fairy. I feel like both of these are things many people are taught as a child, then as they grow older, they find it to be not true. Summary:  we worked on an assignment for lesson two vocab reflection: I forgot to complete the assignment so I will get it done this week.

Prompt: Write about something you’ve always been curious about.

Prompt: I've always been curious about why different places tune to different frequencies. The U.S., and most other places tune to 440hz while some tune to 442hz or 443hz. Its not tha much of a difference but its still a difference. What are the advantages and disadvantages of tuning to different frequencies? Why arent we able to agree on a universal concert pitch frequency? Summary: We worked on writeable reflection: I wish teachers were more flexible with work. Some people have activities and events after school, especial on days where theres football games. I wont have time to complete the assignment today because RIGHT  after school I have to prepare things for eight grade night, then have rehersal, then I'm required to be at every football game so I typically get home around midnight. Wheres the time in there that you said I had to work on my work for your class? Thanks.
