You’ve been in American Literature for 4.5 weeks now. How has the class been going for you so far?

If im going to be honest, not too well. Im having a lot of trouble balancing work from physics, U.S. History, and math. I have a ton of physics work, well over 100 problems a week. I dont really have that much freetime to do anything that I really enjoy anymore. All I do now really is school, marching band, homework, and sleep. it just feels like the same thing over and over again. I'm falling behind in a few classes, and still havent caught up from when I was sick. I just don't have time to make up the work. hopefully once the marching band season ends it will get better and I'll start to have more freetime. Im not really expecting that to happen because I'm up till around 3 every morning trying to get work done.

Summary: We talked about a poem by Emily Dickinson

Reflection: I wish I got more done in class today. I got a good amount done on the assignment for today and will hopefully finish it tonight.

In “Birches,” Robert Frost celebrates imagination as a way to escape life’s difficulties and reconnect with innocence. The speaker wishes to “get away from earth awhile” but also understands that he must eventually return to reality. Think about the role of imagination in your own life. How does imagination help you cope with challenges, boredom, or stress?

Everyone has burning questions about life. Mysteries we wonder about but don’t always have clear answers for. Think about your biggest questions about existence, purpose, or the world around you. Write a blog post where you share at least two of your most burning questions about life and explain why these questions matter to you.
